Paul L. Zerr, 84, Colby, formerly of Park, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at Citizens Medical Center, Colby.

He was born Oct. 6, 1928, in Park to James M. and Martha C. (Depperschmidt) Zerr. He attended a one-room school called West Sunny Slope in rural Gove County.

He worked for a landscape company, helping landscape many rest stops along Interstate 70 in western Kansas. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War.

Survivors include a brother, Arthur Zerr, Thornton, Colo.; and five sisters, Adalaid Kruse, Colby, Henrietta Jackson, Pamona, Colo., Julia Robben and Ramona Zerr, both of Colorado Springs, Colo., and LaVerda Falkenburg, St. Petersburg, Fla.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Park; burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Schmitt Funeral Home, Quinter.

Memorials are suggested to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in care of the funeral home.
