Pearl Lorene Greathouse, 91, Hays, formerly of Garden City, died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at Via Christi Village, Hays.

She was born Dec. 5, 1921, in Plains to John Wilford and Mary Blanch (Kruger) Dufield.

She married Ralph A. Greathouse on Aug. 2, 1942, in Garden City. He preceded her in death. She was a busy farm wife.

Survivors include four sons, Lee Greathouse, Garden City, Gary Greathouse, Fort Collins, Colo., and John Greathouse and David Greathouse, both of Hays; a daughter, Rebecca Middleton, Holiday Island, Ark.; a sister, Ruby Campbell, Placentia, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, with an additional one on the way.

She was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, Garden City; burial in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Price and Sons Funeral Home, Garden City.

Memorials are suggested to Lupus Foundation or First United Methodist Church, Garden City, both in care of the funeral home.
