Peter 'Pete' Galen Stone

Peter "Pete" Galen Stone, 62, Oakley, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, at his home.

He was born Sept. 7, 1951, in Dallas to Robert and Jessie (Staub) Stone. He attended the University of Texas at Austin for one year.

He married Elaine Weber on Sept. 18, 1986. He worked at the University of Texas in the glass blowing department. He also worked for Gryco Quartz before starting his own glass blowing business in 1987. They moved back to Oakley in 2004, where he opened his own glass blowing shop on U.S. Highway 40.

He was an avid fisherman and golfer, and enjoyed being involved in the Tri County Cruisers and family.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Luke Stone, Venus, Texas, and Shannon Moreland and wife, Sandy, Port St. Lucie, Fla.; two daughters, Heidi Harris and husband, William, Dallas, and Wendy Ariza and husband, Stanley, New York, N.Y.; his mother, Dallas; three sisters, Melanie Jack and Cash Olsen, Las Cruces, N.M., Penny Wroski and husband, Steve, Albuquerque, N.M., and Priscilla Toon, Dallas; three brothers-in law, James Weber and wife, Sue, Oakley, Mike Weber and wife, Deanne, Gordonville, Texas, and Eugene Weber and wife, Theresa, Hennessey, Okla.; four sisters-in-law, Karen Weber, Colby, Ilene Nickel and husband, Roy, Oakley, Rose Yeager and husband, Rick, Great Bend, and Pauline Unruh and husband, Gary, Hays; and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Cremation was chosen, and a private family memorial service will be at a later date.
