Phyllis Cannon

Phyllis Cannon, 90, Mansfield, Texas, formerly of WaKeeney, died Thursday, July 3, 2008, at Methodist Mansfield Hospital.

She was born Dec. 18, 1917, in Bunker Hill to Philip George and Fay (Lindsay) Shearer. She was a 1934 graduate of Trego Community High School.

She married Ralph Ray Cannon on Aug. 21, 1938, in WaKeeney. He preceded her in death Feb. 12, 1999. She worked in the SRS office.

Survivors include two sons, Jay Cannon, Mansfield, and Mick Cannon, Garland, Texas; a brother, Rex Shearer, WaKeeney; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in WaKeeney City Cemetery.

No visitation is planned.

Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church, WaKeeney, or Hays Medical Center Hospice in care of Schmitt Funeral Home, 336 N. 12th, WaKeeney, KS 67672.
