Reinhold Julius Wegele

Reinhold Julius Wegele, 84, Russell, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at Ellsworth County Medical Center, Ellsworth.

He was born July 10, 1929, in Russell to Henry and Marie Katherine (Mai) Wegele. He attended school in the Milberger area.

He married Alvina Schaffer on Oct. 15, 1960, in Russell. She preceded him in death in October 1990. He later married Neva (Reich) Olson on Aug. 14, 1993, in Russell. She preceded him in death April 23, 2012. He worked on a pulling unit in the oil patch.

Survivors include three stepsons, Ray Olson, Russell, Larry Olson, Shoals, Ala., and Dwight Olson, San Diego; a brother, Melvin Wegele, Wichita; a sister, Shirley Watts, San Antonio; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a stepson, Ture Olson.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John Lutheran Church, Russell; burial of ashes will follow in Russell City Cemetery.

Friends can sign the register book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, Russell.

Memorials are suggested to Disabled American Veterans in care of the mortuary.
