Rich Weber, 63, Victoria, died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012, at his home west of Victoria.

He was born Dec. 9, 1948, in Hays to Herman and Anita (Staab) Weber. He was a 1966 graduate of Victoria High School.

He married Barbara A. Billinger on June 3, 1967, in Victoria. She preceded him in death April 19, 1992. He later married Diana L. Derr on Sept. 18, 1999, in Pfeifer. He was a mechanic and farmer for more than 40 years and owned Weber Machine and Repair for many years. He worked for Schmidtberger Construction for 12 years. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

He served on the Victoria Volunteer Fire Department for 15 years, Victoria City Council for five years, Ellis County Fair Board for five years and was awarded Friends of Ellis County 4-H in 2011. He was active in tractor pulling in the state of Kansas and pulled "Rags to Riches." He enjoyed collecting and rebuilding antique tractors.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Richard Weber and wife, Sandra, Hays; a daughter, Melissa Schmidt and husband, Robert, Victoria; a brother, Mitch Weber and wife, Julie, Hays; a sister, Roben Weber, Hutchinson; three sisters-in-law, Charlotte Weber and Karen Weber, both of Victoria, and Rosie Weber, Hays; six grandchildren, Kyle, Brooke and Chase Schmidt, Anniston, Madison and Bryson Weber; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Brian, Herman V. "Verlee" and Lavon Weber.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria; burial in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria, with military honors by Victoria Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1751.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Friday, both at Cline's Mortuary, 412 Main, Victoria, KS 67671.

A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to Capuchin Friars Papua New Guinea Mission, Sisters of St. Agnes Nicaragua Mission or the Blaine Billinger Excellence in Scouting Scholarship Fund in care of the mortuary.
