Richard 'Dick' Brooks

Richard "Dick" Brooks, 86, Oakley, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at Logan County Manor, Oakley.
He was born Feb. 9, 1927, in Hot Springs, Ark., to Robert and Mary Ann (Rossum) Brooks.
He married Gladys Bradshaw on Dec. 7, 1946, in Winona. She preceded him in death. He was a mechanic. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War II.
Survivors include four daughters, Peggy Suter, Kaw City, Okla., Elizabeth Ann Day, Dallas, June Guthrie, Long Beach, Miss., and TruDee Little, Wichita; a sister, Mary Francis Irwin, Arapahoe, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church, Oakley; burial in Oakley Cemetery, with military honors.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home, P.O. Box 221, Oakley, KS 67748.
Memorials are suggested to Logan County Hospital or Oakley United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
