Richard A. Moore Sr., 97, Hays, died Monday, May 20, 2013, at St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City.

He was born Aug. 16, 1915, in rural Antonino to Richard A. and Clara M. (Smith) Moore. He was a graduate of Hays High School.

He married Regina M. "Peggy" Rupp on Feb. 11, 1941, in Hays. She preceded him in death Dec. 22, 2002. He was a route salesman for 44 years for Kessler's Dry Cleaning and Laundry Service, which became Suburban Dry Cleaners and Laundry Service. After retirement, he was busy with the Moore Family Farm and tending to his garden. He has resided at Via Christi Village the past two years.

He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays.

Survivors include his two sons, Richard Moore Jr. and wife, Jerri, Garden City, and Eldon J. Moore, Scottsdale, Ariz.; a daughter, Marla J. Moore, Gilbert, Ariz.; seven grandchildren, Sue Larsen, Holcomb, Shelly Valley, Garden City, Sherry Burling, Lafayette, La., Shannon Moore, Liberal, Stacie Moore, San Francisco, Megan Stewart, Phoenix, and Tory Friesen, Little River; seven great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Moore; and two sisters, Wilma Groff and Hilda Eaton.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Friday, both at Brock's North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601.

A vigil will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Building Fund or Via Cristi Village, both of Hays, in care of the funeral home.
