Richard D. "Rich" Dumler, 83, Russell, died Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Russell Regional Hospital.

He was born Aug. 31, 1929, in Russell to David B. and Hildegarde (Morgenstern) Dumler. He was raised and attended local schools in Russell and was a 1947 graduate of Russell High School.

He married Vera D. Schultz on Oct. 23, 1955, in Russell. He worked for KRSL Radio station as a station manager until retirement in 1992. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1951 to 1953 and was stationed in Fort Amador, Panama.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Brad Dumler, Arlington, Texas; two daughters, Lori Dumler, Aurora, Ore., and Lynn Dumler, Russell; two sisters, Dava Carrell and Donna Hutchison; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, Russell; cremation has preceded the service and family will have a private inurnment.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, with family present to greet friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at the mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to St. John Lutheran Church or Alzheimer's Association in care of the mortuary.
