Robert Eugene Schrandt, 73, Plainville, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012, at Salina Regional Health Center.

He was born Dec. 24, 1938, in Rooks County to Gilbert and Thelma (Saindon) Schrandt.

He married Jerry Schrandt on Feb. 8, 1964, in Plainville.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; three sons, Allen Schrandt, Glen Schrandt and David Schrandt, all of Wichita; a daughter, Paula Barnes, Hutchinson; two brothers, Calvin Schrandt, Big Sandy, Tenn., and Ronald Schrandt, Las Vegas; a sister, Mary Ellen Starrett, Orlando, Fla.; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Plainville; burial in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, with military honors by Fort Riley Honor Guard.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, with family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at Moore-Overlease Funeral Chapel, Plainville.

A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Sacred Heart Catholic School or Morrison House in care of the funeral home.
