Robert Francis Werth, 78, Schoenchen, died Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Hays Medical Center.

He was born April 8, 1935, in Schoenchen to Frank Francis Werth and Lidwina Tauscher. He was a graduate of St. Joseph Military Academy.

He married Helga Margaret Benker on Jan. 9, 1959, in Bamburg, Germany. He was an aircraft machinist for Boeing in Wichita. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Schoenchen, and a past Knights of Columbus member.

Survivors include his wife, Schoenchen; four sons, Stan Werth and partner, Monette, Wewahitchka, Fla., Glenn Werth and wife, Michelle, Palmdale, Calif., Kirk Werth and wife, Heather, Victoria, and Steve Werth and wife, Laurie, Schoenchen; two daughters, Lisa "Chach" Beilman and husband, Ken, Hays, and Silvia Gottschalk and husband, Dennis, La Crosse; four brothers, Ernie Werth, Schoenchen, Irvin Lee Werth and Richard Werth, both of Hays, and Steve Werth, Lancaster, Calif.; five sisters, Laurine Werth, Hays, Lillian Graf, Chandler, Ariz., Mary Ann Rindt, Wichita, Genavive Mendenhall, Lancaster, and Cheryl Kay Thomas, Hays; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Robert F. Werth Jr.; and two brothers, Fred Werth and Francis Werth Jr.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Schoenchen; burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Brock's Funeral Chapel, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601.

Memorials are suggested to be used according to the wishes of the family to be designated at a later date.
