Robert Leo Rogers, 81, lifelong resident of Stockton and Plainville, died Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, at Rooks County Health Center, Plainville.
He was born Aug. 20, 1928, in rural Stockton to John W. and Cecelia (Kriley) Rogers. He attended Stockton High School.
He married Arlene Gates on Dec. 21, 1951, in Zurich. He was a truck driver and pumper in the oil field. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Bob Rogers; four daughters, Linda Rice, Kathy Harrison, Connie Ganoung and Julie Rohr; four sisters, Viola Burton, Mary Naylor, Ellen Most, and Berniece Thyfault; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Plainville; burial in St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery, Stockton, with military honors by Stockton Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with family present from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Mosher-Kemp Family Funeral Home, 320 S.W. Second, Plainville, KS 67663.
A ladies guild rosary will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
A vigil will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, with a Knights of Columbus rosary following at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Rooks County Health Center in care of the funeral home.
