Roberta Rose (Albers) Robben, 72, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at Hays Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 9, 1941, in Hoxie to John M. and Mary P. (Schoenberger) Albers. She was a 1959 graduate of Oakley High School.

She married Phillip J. Robben on March 6, 1962, in Angelus. He preceded her in death Nov. 16, 2003. She was a homemaker and worked in various motels in the Oakley and Hays areas before retiring.

She enjoyed baking for family and friends doing puzzles and playing cards.

Survivors include six sons, Michael and wife, Gaynor, Waldorf, Md., Patrick, Lyle and Lawrence, all of Hays, Thomas and wife, Nancy, Topeka, and William, Mesa Ariz.; three daughters, Phyllis and husband, Alan, Grainfield, and Kimberly and Liza, both of Hays; three brothers, Gary Albers, Gillette, Wyo., Charles Albers and wife, Lois, Hays, and Jim Albers, Oakley; two sisters, Helen Legleiter, Hays, and Evelyn Geist and husband, Elmer, Oakley; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and four step-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her oldest daughter, Delores Diana Robben; her parents; a sister, Loree Albers; and three brothers, Bill Albers, Bernie Albers and Leroy Albers.

Family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Oakley, with a Mass following.

Memorials are suggested to the Roberta Robben Memorial Fund in care of Baalmann Mortuary, PO Box 204, Oakley, KS 67748.
