Cecil I. Roberts

Cecil I. Roberts, 84, Quinter, died Monday, July 21, 2008, at Gove County Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 29, 1923, to Lewis W. and Florence J. (Rogers) Roberts.

He married Janice (Weems) Roberts on June 7, 1953, in Quinter. He was a farmer and rancher. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Terry Roberts, Colby; a daughter, Julinne Samuelson, Quinter; two brothers, Ted Roberts, Salina, and Wendell Roberts, Quinter; two sisters, Anna Lea Dohm and Wilma Gillespie, both of Quinter; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, Quinter; inurnment in Baker Township Cemetery, with military rites by American Legion Post 164, Quinter.

Memorials are suggested to Quinter Volunteer Fire Department in care of Schmitt Funeral Home, 901 S. Main, Quinter, KS 67752.
