Ronald Christian Carmicheal, 81, Grand Junction, Colo., died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, in Grand Junction.

He was born July 7, 1932, in Plainville to Ralph and Maude (Winters) Carmicheal.

He married Shirley Mae (Morris) Carmicheal on Dec. 25, 1954, in Plainville. She preceded him in death. He was an electrician. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include two daughters, Debra Smith, Grand Junction, and Kimberlee Black and husband, Jerry, Clovis, Calif.; a brother, Robert Carmicheal and wife, Erma, Plainville; two sisters, Joy Glick, Hays, and Regna Powell, Sun City West, Ariz.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and their children.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Chris; and two brothers, Norman and Richard.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, Plainville; Masonic commital in Plainville Masonic Lodge, with military rites by Reeder, Dinkel, Westhusin VFW Post No. 8871, Plainville, and American Legion Post No. 173, Hays; burial following in Plainville City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, with family receiving friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home, Plainville.

Memorials are suggested to Ronald Carmicheal Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
