Rosie Deines, 93, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital, WaKeeney.

She was born Feb. 28, 1921, in Gove County to Edward and Josephine (Fahey) Norton. She attended Gove County country schools.

She married Edward Deines on Sept. 13, 1944. He preceded her in death July 21, 1991. She worked in a variety of local businesses, beginning at Reineckers IGA in 1941 and retiring from Hogeland's Market in 1994 at the age of 73.

Survivors include three sons, Gene Deines, Hoxie, Richard Deines, WaKeeney, and Bob Deines, Oklahoma City; a daughter, Janelle Miller, WaKeeney; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, WaKeeney; burial in WaKeeney City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Schmitt Funeral Home, WaKeeney.

Memorials are suggested to Keeney Village or Immanuel Lutheran Church in care of the funeral home.
