Rubin Fabrizius

Rubin Fabrizius, 92, WaKeeney, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Hays Medical Center.

He was born June 9, 1921, in rural Trego County to John and Anna Elizabeth Fabrizius.

He married Ella (Deines) Fabrizius on Oct. 21, 1941, in rural Trego County. He was a farmer and stockman in Trego County. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; five sons, Gene Fabrizius and wife, Judy, John Fabrizius, Paul Fabrizius, Curt Fabrizius and Carl Fabrizius and wife, Sarah, all of WaKeeney; two daughters, Ruth Tinkler and husband, Delton, and Sara Sherwood, all of WaKeeney; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Albert Fabrizius; five sisters, Carolina and Alvena Fabrizius, Tabea Dietz, Helen Deines and LuElla Waddell; a granddaughter, Julie Fabrizius-Clerihue; a grandson, Matthew Fabrizius; and a daughter-in-law, Connie Fabrizius.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, Trego Center; burial in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, with military honors by U.S. Army, Fort Riley.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Zion Lutheran Church in care of Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home, 723 N. First, Stockton, KS 67669.
