Ruth Mehler, 89, Ellsworth, formerly of Plainville and WaKeeney, died Saturday, July 13, 2013, at her home.

She was born Aug. 23, 1923, in Trego County to George and Magdalena (Schneider) Schwien.

She married Leonard W. Mehler on June 9, 1946, in WaKeeney. He preceded her in death in 2000. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include a son, Jon Mehler, Ellsworth; a daughter, Raelene Chilcoat, Keller, Texas; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, Ellsworth; burial at 3 p.m. in WaKeeney City Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to First Presbyterian Church, Ellsworth, or Bethleham Lutheran Church, WaKeeney, in care of Parsons Funeral Home, P.O. Box 45, Ellsworth, KS 67439.
