Neola C. Schmidtberger, 71, formerly of Russell, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at Hays Medical Center.

She was born June 20, 1941, in Hyacinth to Isidor P. and Lidwina (Younker) Kreutzer.

She married Robert F. Schmidtberger on June 18, 1960, in Victoria. He preceded her in death April 30, 2007. She was a homemaker. She had lived in Russell since 2001, moving from Greeley, Colo.

She was a member of St. Fidelis Catholic Church and was a volunteer worker on the funeral dinner committee.

Survivors include two brothers, Marvin Kreutzer, Brighton, Colo., and LeRoy Kreutzer and wife, Sandy, Hays; four sisters, Ann Sander, Littleton, Colo., Verla Staab and husband, Roger, and Millie Flax, all of Hays, and Firma Pfannenstiel, WaKeeney; and a sister-in-law, Judy Kreutzer, Russell.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Kenneth Kreutzer; a sister, Alice Nemechek; an infant brother; and an infant sister.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria; burial in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, both at Cline's Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd, Hays, KS 67601.

A vigil will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria, in care of the mortuary.
