Shelby Marie (Swaney) Stutzke, 20, San Diego, formerly of Hays, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, at her home in San Diego.

She was born April 23, 1992, in Dodge City to Tony Alan Swaney and Renee Christine Legleiter. She was a 2010 graduate of Hays High School and moved to California in July 2011.

She married Matthew Stutzke on Dec. 3, 2011, in San Diego.

Survivors include her husband, San Diego; her father, Tony Swaney and his significant other, Amy Rupp, Hays; her mother, Renee Legleiter, Liebenthal; a brother, Trevor Swaney, Liebenthal; two half-brothers, Dalton Lindgren, Piedmont, S.D., and Caleb Swaney, Hays; a half-sister, Denee Lindgren, Piedmont; two step-brothers, Cody Grubb, Ellis, and Jeremy Rupp, Hays; her grandparents, Jim Swaney, Salina, Judy Davis and husband, Lynn, Hoisington, Ron Legleiter and wife, Susan, Hays, and Marie Penrod and husband, George, Cheyenne, Wyo.; and a great-grandmother, Rosetta Cure, Colorado.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Liebenthal; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Liebenthal.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cline's Mortuary of Hays, 1919 E. 22nd, Hays, KS 67601, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.

A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Liebenthal, in care of the mortuary.
