Shirley Marie Lindsay, 76, Hays, died Thursday, June 26, 2014, at her daughter's home in Andover.

She was born Nov. 26, 1937, in Hays to Peter and Mary (Brungardt) Dinkel.

She married Richard Lee Lindsay on April 28, 1956, in Hays. He preceded her in death. She was a self-employed insurance agent, an Avon dealer, and enjoyed being a Senior Companion the last nine years.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Hays.

Survivors include a son, Rick Lindsay and wife, Lori, Norton; a daughter, Chris Bennett and husband, Ed, Wichita; her grandchildren, Jedidiah and Jennifer Lindsay, Zachary Lindsay, both of Norton, and Amanda and Jacob Swim, Wichita; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Steve, from a vehicle accident in 1972; and six siblings, Joe, Bob and Melvin Dinkel, Leona Asper, Ruby Bieker and Hubertine Herl.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays; inurnment will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Norton City Cemetery.

Friends can call from 10 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in care of Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1906 Pine, Hays, KS 67601.
