Shirley M. VonFeldt, 72, Larned, died Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, at Larned Healthcare Center.

She was born March 22, 1937, in Victoria to Edwin and Armella Dreiling Schmidtberger.

She married G.L. VonFeldt on July 21, 1954, in Gorham. She was a housewife.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Altar Society.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; three sons, Richard and wife, Barbara, James and wife, Judy, all of Larned, and Douglas and wife, Mary, Wamego; a sister, Lillian Zufelt and husband, Irwin, Lago Vista, Texas; and seven grandchildren, Bryan, Hays, Kevin, Larned, Stephanie Pierce and husband, Houston, Andrew, Aaron and wife, Edith, and Joshua and Andrea, all of Manhattan.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Lee Schmidtberger; and a grandson, Bradley VonFeldt.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Larned; burial in Larned Cemetery.

Friends can sign the book from 1 to 8 p.m. today at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned.

A vigil will be at 7 p.m. today at the mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, South Wind Hospice or Larned Food Pantry in care of the mortuary.
