John A. Snider, 77, Raymond, died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, at Cherry Village Nursing Home, Great Bend.

He was born Jan. 5, 1936, in Raymond to Dee Lambert and Clara Mary (Wille) Snider. He was a graduate of Fort Hays State University with a bachelor of science degree in agriculture.

He was a farmer/cattleman. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He attended Raymond Baptist Church and was a member of Fort Hays State Alumni Association.

Survivors include two nieces, Deidre Richardson, Brownell, and Sheri Koch-Cunningham, Hutchinson; two nephews, Tim Koch, Alden, and Todd Koch, Lawrence; his special friends, Audria Bieberle, Bushton, and Mike Lucas, Raymond; a sister-in-law, Grace Elaine Snider-King, Healy; and a brother-in-law, Calvin Koch, Sterling.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Dee J. Snider; a sister, Marcellene Koch; and a nephew, Clifford Snider.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Raymond Baptist Church; burial in Great Bend Cemetery with military rites by Fort Riley Honor Guard.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend, and from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Raymond Baptist Church or Raymond Fire Department, in care of the funeral home.
