Sonya Jo "Sammi" (Wickwar) Williams, 70, Hays, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at Hays Medical Center.

She was born April 4, 1943, in Goodland to Ward William Wickwar and Shirley (Brinker) Wickwar Tarbet.

She was a nurse at Lantern Park Manor and Prairie Senior Living Complex, Colby, and Good Samaritan Society, Hays.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, crocheting, listening to music, bowling and cooking. She was a Dallas Cowboys fan.

Survivors include a son, Lance Williams and wife, Barbara, Weatherford, Okla.; four daughters, Terri Fyfe and husband, David, Sparta, Wis., Connie Elias, Derby, Cyndi Ford, Colby, and Samantha Butler and husband, Brian, Hays; two brothers, Mark Wickwar and Dave Tarbet, both of Ulysses; a sister, Susan Smith, Olathe; 15 grandchildren, Rachel Baker, Justin Fyfe, Brady, Amber and Dylan Williams, Brandon Thomas, Dara, Blake and Spencer Elias, Bailey Stupka, Shelby Klinger and Caelan Ford, Lily and Ian Butler; and 12 great-grandchildren, Mallory, Cohen, Carson, Cameron, Reni, Alex, Max, Axel, Brylea, Chloe, Alexis and Braelyn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Daniel Williams; and a brother, John Wickwar.

A celebration of life services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Brock's North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601.

Memorials are suggested to Options Domestic and Sexual Violence Services or the Community Assistance Center Food Bank in care of the funeral home.
