Elsie Veatch Spangler, 99, WaKeeney, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2012.

She was born Nov. 23, 1912, in Lost Springs to August and Clara (Hartke) Engel.

She married Harold Veatch on March 18, 1939. He preceded her in death Aug. 29, 1948. She later married Gaylord Spangler on June 11, 1967. He preceded her in death Oct. 11, 1987.

Survivors include two sons, Steve Veatch, Cedar Falls, Iowa, Chuck Veatch, Manhattan; four daughters, Leatha Beavers, Olathe, Cindy Scanlon, WaKeeney, Joan Daniels, Kansas City, and Janet Rees, West Liberty, Iowa; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. John Cemetery.

Family-hosted services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 255 S. Seventh, Salina.

Memorials are suggested to the hospice of choice.

Schmitt Funeral Home, WaKeeney, is in charge of arrangements.
