Marjorie Frances Splitter
Marjorie Frances Splitter, 92, Geneseo, died Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at Good Samaritan Center, Lyons.
She was born Jan. 5, 1916, in rural Kanopolis to Henry Clinton and Mary Gertrude Straley Shively. She received a teaching certificate from Abilene Summer School.
She married Louie William Splitter on May 25, 1936, in Frederick. He preceded her in death on May 12, 1992. She was a teacher and homemaker.
She was a member of United Methodist Church, Geneseo, organist at Frederick Baptist Church and United Methodist Church in Geneseo, and member of Li-Ar-Mu Club, Dorians Club and Fredricks Baptist Women's Missions.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen K. Nichols, Hays, and Kyle M. Turner, Lyons; two brothers, Wayne Shively and Dale Clinton Shively, both of Kanopolis; a sister, Nathalie Joan Baker, Palo Alto, Calif.; a grandson, Eric V. Nichols; and three great-grandchildren, Eric F., Rachel, and Rebekah Nichols.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Dean Shively, and a twin sister, Marie Elfreda Hoss.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, Geneseo; burial in Buckeye Cemetery, Kanopolis.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
Memorials are suggested to Good Samaritan Center or Geneseo United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
