Stanley Jay Dreiling, 56, Hays, died Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, at Hays Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 1, 1955, in Hays to James G. and Rita (Wiesner) Dreiling.

He married Jan Reever on March 26, 1988. She preceded him in death Aug. 28, 2003.

After graduating from Thomas More Prep High School in 1973, he worked in the family business, Midwest Tobacco and Candy, with his father and uncle, T.J.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors, cooking and spending time with grandchildren.

Survivors include his mother, Sterling House in Hays; three brothers, Stephen Dreiling and wife, Diann, Aurora, Colo., Dr. Roger Dreiling and wife, Lynn, Lawrence, and David Dreiling, Dallas; a son, Jason Dreiling and wife, Christy, Overland Park; his stepchildren, Mike Reever, Olathe, Dale Reever, Bonner Springs, Traci Burney and husband, Jim, Olathe, Marci Handley and husband, Steve, Kansas City, Kan., Jami Reever and husband, Kim Simons, Emporia, Kyle Reever and wife, Heather, Olathe, and T.J. Reever and wife, Kristi, Overland Park; and grandchildren, Christopher, Jordan, Taylor, Steven, Hannah, Tyra, Aris, Alex, Ethan, Benjamin, Jacob, Marissa, Payton and Delilah; and special friend, Ashton Sparks.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Christopher Dreiling.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays.

Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Brock's North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601.

A parish vigil will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Hays Medical Center Endowment Fund.
