Susan K. Tomrdle, 68, Hays, died Monday, March 4, 2013, at Hays Medical Center.

She was born July 6, 1944, in Hays to Richard O. and Rose (Altman) Tomrdle. She was a 1962 graduate of Hays High School and received a bachelor's degree in education from Fort Hays State College in January 1966.

She taught second grade in Great Bend for many years and also taught in Goodland.

Survivors include her first cousins, Dale Akers and wife, Marjorie, Hays, and Glenn Akers and wife, Marie, Lebanon, Mo.; and many second cousins and friends.

Graveside services with inurnment will be at 1 p.m. March 15 in Mount Allen Cemetery, Hays.

Memorials are suggested to Hays Humane Society of the High Plains or Ellis Good Samaritan Society nursing home.

Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 20th and Pine, is in charge of arrangements.
