Susanna (Ochs) Zerr, 99, formerly of Grainfield, Hays and Salina, died Friday, May 17, 2013, in Rossville, Ga.

She was born Dec. 20, 1913, south of Park to Anton and Eleanor (Heier) Ochs.

She married Philip Zerr on Oct. 29, 1934, in Park. He preceded her in death June 4, 1971. They ran the creamery, and she was a cook for the school in Grainfield for many years. She was a housekeeper for the priests at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for many years.

She was a former member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers of Grainfield; former member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Senior Companions and Daughters of Isabella, all of Hays; and former member of the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Salina.

Survivors include a son, Philip Zerr and wife, Joan, Wichita; two daughters, Agnes Weigel, Salina, and Patricia Evans and husband, Joe, Rossville; two brothers, Leo Ochs, Quinter, and Billy Ochs, Park; two sisters, Rosie Goetz, Grainfield, and Esther Tanguay, Arvada, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Pete and Steve Ochs; and a sister, Annamary Zerr.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Grainfield; burial in St. Agnes Cemetery, Grainfield.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, both at St. Agnes Parish Center, Grainfield.

A vigil will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the center.

Memorials are suggested to Masses in care of the Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 20th and Pine.
