Thomas A. "Tom" Waldschmidt, 65, Wichita, formerly of Colby, died Monday, Sept. 30, 2013.

He was retired from Service Oil Co.

Survivors include his wife, Vicky; two sons, Dr. Christopher "CJ" Waldschmidt and wife, Christine, Kansas City, Mo., and Craig Waldschmidt, Chicago; his step-children, Crystal Firestone and husband, Lea, Wichita, Eric May and wife, Sherri, Clearwater, Brett May and wife, Sue, Wichita, and Jason May and wife, Debora, Pratt; his siblings, Agnes Wannamaker, Ellis, Bernie Waldschmidt, Fruita, Colo., Whitey Waldschmidt, Grand Junction, Colo., and Jim Waldschmidt, North Platte, Neb.; two grandchildren, Ahren and Kai Waldschmidt; nine step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Regina (Tauscher) Waldschmidt; and his siblings, Esther Touslee and AJ Waldschmidt.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Colby; additional services will be at 11 a.m. Oct. 14 at Clearwater First Christian Church.

Memorials are suggested to Thomas County Historical Society, 1905 S. Franklin Ave., Colby, KS 67701, or Salvation Army, 350 N. Market, Wichita, KS 67202.

Webb-Shinkle Mortuary, Clearwater, is in charge of arrangements.
