Thomas Richard Jakoplic, 61, Burrton, died Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

He was born Feb. 20, 1953, in Plainfield, N.J., to Richard and Marion Jakoplic. He was a graduate of Fort Hays State University and a longtime resident of Burrton and Logan.

He worked in aviation cabinet building at United Technologies in Wichita.

He attended New Spring Church, Wichita.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Pamela Jakoplic, Burrton; two daughters, Raina Leite and husband, Ryan, Palm Beach Gardens, and Abigail Jakoplic-Arnold and husband, Chris, Kansas City, Mo.; two brothers, James (Lee Wan Chin) Jakoplic, Singapore, and Todd Kee and wife, Shannon, Morgan, Utah; and five grandchildren, Jasmyne, Colt, Makayla, Gavin and Ronan; and a nephew, William.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A family ceremony was Saturday at Coral Cove Beach, Tequesta, Fla.; burial in Woodston Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 4002018, Des Moines, IA 50340.

Palm Beach National Chapel, Lake Worth, Fla., is in charge of arrangements.
