Thomas W. 'Tom' Hammond

Thomas W. "Tom" Hammond, 67, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012.
He was born Oct. 5, 1945, in New York, N.Y., to Wilfred John and Bergit Amelia (Lund) Hammond. He attended school at Queen of the Holy Rosary, Bishop Miege and Emporia State University.
He was a sales rep for White Stag. He ended his career as the owner of a custom interior finishing business, working in Naples, Fla., and China.
His silver-white hair earned him the nickname "Silver Fox." He had an infectious laugh, playful personality and frequently donned all-white attire.
Survivors include three brothers, Edward Hammond and wife, Mary, Hays, Phillip Hammond and wife, Jody, Lenexa, and James Hammond, Gainesville, Ga.; eight nieces and nephews; and 13 great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials are suggested to K.C. Hospice or KU Cancer Center Steiner Endowment.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Shepherd Catholic Church, Shawnee.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday at the church.
