Thomas Wayne Berry Sr., 50, Russell, formerly of Wewoka, Okla., died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at Hays Medical Center.

He was born May 2, 1959, in Orange County, Calif. He moved to Wewoka, Okla., where he was raised by Clarence Brinsfield. He graduated from Wewoka High School and attended three years of college in California.

He married Randa Combes on Feb. 7, 1994, in Seminole, Okla. He worked in the oil fields in Oklahoma as a tool pusher and on drilling units. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1979 to 1982.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; three sons, Tommy Berry Jr. and Justin "J.J." Berry, both of Russell, and Richard Green, Ellsworth; four daughters, Jessica Hager, Russell, Danelle Berry and Wendy Simms, both of Washington, and Carlie Nell; three brothers, Sonny Labm, Seattle, Larry Berry, Moore, Okla., and Billy Williams, Wewoka; three sisters, Cheryl Caruso, Seminole, Okla., Billie Stark, Wewoka, and BJ Phillips, Chapin, S.C.; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Lebo Creek Cemetery, Lebo.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, with family present from 4 to 6 p.m. at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, Russell.

Memorials are suggested to Tom Berry Memorial in care of the mortuary.
