Timothy L. Herman, 52, Hays, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at his home.

He was born July 20, 1961, in WaKeeney to Ervin "Sunny" and Ramona "Dolly" (Groff) Herman. He attended St. Mary Grade School in Ellis. He was an altar boy and a 1979 graduate of Thomas More Prep-Marian High School.

He married Maria M. Abrego on March 4, 1989, in Guatemala. He worked in network and Internet systems security for Sprint in Kansas City. He also was a computer technician for a computer chip company in California. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was in the Peace Corps in Guatemala for two years.

He enjoyed bicycling with his family.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Benjamin Herman, Kansas City, Mo.; two daughters, Amy Vaughn and husband, Jordan, Fayetteville, Ark., and Jennifer Herman, Kansas City, Mo.; his parents; a brother, Mark Herman and wife, Cheryl, Hays; two sisters, Rose M. Davidson and husband, Greg, Marion, and Michelle Herman, Kansas City, Mo.

He was preceded in death by a brother, David R. Herman, in 2005.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays; inurnment will be at 2 p.m. Monday in St. Mary Cemetery, Ellis, with military honors by Hays American Legion.

Friends can call from 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at the church.

A rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Masses in care of Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 20th and Pine.
