Troy Brian Buckland

Troy Brian Buckland, 51, Grinnell, formerly of Norway, died Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at his home.

He was born Dec. 12, 1961, in Concordia to Gary Lee Buckland and Karen Louise (Puett) Buckland. He was a 1980 graduate of Ozark High School, Ozark, Mo.

For many years, he worked on a workover rig, doing maintenance on oil wells in western Kansas.

Survivors include his children, Toyann Marie Buckland, Grinnell, and Benjamin Lee Buckland, Norway; his mother, Belleville; a brother, Erick Martin Buckland, Junction City; a grandchild, Elijah Lee Buckland, Salina; and many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his companion, Helen A. Hennigar, on Oct. 5, 2006.

A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Bethel Cemetery, rural Glasco. The cemetery is located 2 miles west and 1 mile south of the Highway 24/81 junction. Following the memorial service, family and friends are invited to a luncheon at the Senior Citizen Center, Glasco.

Cremation was chosen. Schmitt Funeral Home, Quinter, was in charge of arrangements.
