Bob Ummel, 78, Lindsay, Okla., died Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at his home after battling diabetes, heart disease and kidney disease for several years.
He was born Nov. 21, 1933, in Ransom to Lloyd and Mildred Ummel. He was a 1951 graduate of Ransom High School.
He married Loretta Hilmes on Oct. 23, 1958, in Ransom.
He retired from Weatherford International in 2007, after a long career in oilfield service as a plunger and gas lift specialist. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years; two daughters, Brenda Hilmes, Blanchard, Okla., and Julie Hubbard, Lindsay; a brother, Lyle Ummel, Ransom; his grandchildren; his step-grandchildren; and his great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Brown.
Services were July 28 at United Methodist Church, Lindsay, with military honors by American Legion Ball Smith Post No. 23.
