Velma F. Burk, 89, Rush Center, died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, at Rush County Nursing Home, La Crosse.
She was born March 22, 1920, in Nekoma to John and Emma (Phillips) Nash.
She married Cecil E. Burk on Aug. 20, 1937, in Great Bend. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; a daughter, Sherla A. Mendenhall, Rush Center; a sister, Estel Cook, Larned; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ted Burk; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, La Crosse; burial in Nekoma Union Township Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with family present from 6 to 7 p.m. at Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse, and from 9 to 9:50 a.m. Friday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to South Wind Hospice, Pratt, or Rush County Nursing Home, La Crosse, in care of the funeral home.
