Venita Lorrene Houchin, 75, WaKeeney, died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital, WaKeeney.

She was born Dec. 22, 1936, in Wichita to Foster and Leoti (Hall) Newland.

She married Donald Norris in 1958. He preceded her in death in August 1991. She later married Everet Houchin in 1988. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include three sons, Doug Norris, WaKeeney, Todd Norris, Hays, and Phil Norris, Manhattan; a daughter, Terri Johnson, Kansas City, Kan.; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Norris, and a grandchild.

Services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at Schmitt Funeral Home, WaKeeney; graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. in Highland Cemetery, Winfield.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
