Vesta M. Cox, 89, Grainfield, died Saturday, July 25, 2009, at Logan County Manor, Oakley.
She was born Dec. 4, 1919, in Sparks, Okla., to Homer E. and Mattie L. (Elliot) Tague.
She married Francis L. Cox on June 18, 1947, near Chandler, Okla. He preceded her in death in 2009. She was a teacher.
Survivors include a son, Russell "Russ" Cox, Oakley; a daughter, Beverly "Susie" Summers, Quinter; two sisters, Doris Weisser, Mustang, Okla., and Evelyn Williams, Midwest City, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Denny Cox, in 2008.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Grainfield United Methodist Church; burial in Grainfield Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home, Oakley.
Memorials are suggested to Grainfield United Methodist Church, or Sparks Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
OUr thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Please know that friends and family are grieving for you. It must be so hard to lose so many family members in such a short period of time. My heart truly goes out to you!
