Veta Ruiz, 90, Kiowa, died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, in Hays.
She was born Dec. 23, 1919, in Kiowa.
She worked for Boeing, was housekeeper for numerous residents of Kiowa and did maintenance for several years at First State Bank.
She was a member of St. John Catholic Church before moving to Caldwell to live with her daughter, Pauline, due to health issues.
She loved family gatherings and enjoyed going to visit all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and enjoyed going to sporting events and playing games at family gatherings and cooking.
Survivors include three sons, Victor Ruiz and wife, Vida, Medicine Lodge, Jose Ruiz Jr. and wife, Kim, Hazelton, and Venito Ruiz, Kiowa; five daughters, Anita Neuburger and husband, Glen, and Maria Ruiz, all of Hays, Carmen Foster and Belen Lester and husband, Willie, all of Stillwater, Okla., and Pauline Dreiling and husband, Leon, Caldwell; 18 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Musio and Paubla Moreno Jaso; her husband, Jose Ruiz Sr., two infant daughters, Alisia and Elena; three brothers, Joe, George and Valente; three sisters, Lucita, Maria and Chole; and a niece, Rosemary Rice.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Kiowa.
Memorials are suggested to the church.
Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Kiowa, is in charge of arrangements.
