Victor Calvin Eickbush

Victor C. Eickbush, 84, Hays, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at Hays Medical Center.

He was born March 10, 1925, in Hays to Andrew A. and Alicia G. (Velie) Eickbush.

He married Ruth Mae Henrickson on Sept. 2, 1944, in Hays. She preceded him in death Sept. 23, 1992. He worked for Halliburton for 34 years.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge and Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include a son, David Eickbush, Hays; three daughters, Ruth E. Lahendro and husband, Lou, Lomita, Calif., Barbara A. Kubat and husband, Greg, Wichita, and Mary E. Thornton and husband, Jack, Scott City; a brother, George Eickbush, Wake Forest, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Todd Boller, Matthew and Rebecca Eickbush, Jason and Valerie Kubat, Melissa Jorgensen and Jenalee Eickbush; and five great-grandchildren, Gage and Alec Malchow, Kelby Jorgensen, and Shawn and Haley Kubat.

He was preceded in death by seven brothers, Fred, Andrew, Francis "Dutch", Karl, Bob, Tom and John Eickbush.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church; burial in Mount Allen Cemetery, Hays.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Hays Memorial Chapel, 20th and Pine.

There will be a combined Masonic Service and Order of the Eastern Star service at 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
