Viola "Olie" (Kreutzer) Weigel, 79, Hays, died Friday, April 12, 2013, at Hays Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 29, 1934, in Liebenthal to Paul and Rose (Unrein) Kreutzer.

She married LaVerne H. Weigel on July 20, 1954, in Hays. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

She enjoyed baking, reading, family and her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, LaVerne, of the home in Hays; three sons, Jay Weigel, Duane Weigel and wife, Cindy, and Roger Weigel and wife, Ramona, all of Hays; two daughters, Coy Wasinger, Victoria, and Marla Weigel and friend, Vaughn McMurtrie, Hays; three brothers, Wilfred Kreutzer and Marvin Kreutzer and wife, Patricia; eight grandchildren, Brandon, Alan and Christina Weigel, Falynn Wasinger, Traci Wright and husband, Aaron, Casey Pletcher, and Raeleann and Rylan Weigel; three step-grandchildren, Janae Atkerson and husband, Craig, Brandy Dreiling and Heidi Uhrich; a great-granddaughter, Taylor Huffman; and two step-great-grandchildren, Rylee and Reanna Atkerson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Dennis Kreutzer and wife, Kay; two sisters, Georgine Wahlmeier and husband, Robert, and Elsie Jacobs and husband, Simon; and a sister-in-law, Patricia Kreutzer.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church; private family inurnment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays.

Family will be present to greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Monday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to DeBakey Heart Institute or to Hospice of Hays Medical Center, in care of Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 20th and Pine.
