Viola "Vi" Werth, 81, Schoenchen, died Sunday, July 5, 2009, at Hays Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 27, 1928, in Rush County to George and Helen (Schoendaller) Munsch.

She married Ernest Joseph Werth on April 22, 1947, in Schoenchen.

He preceded her in death Oct. 23, 1983. She was former manager of Coachman's Inn Restaurant.

She attended St. Anthony Catholic Church, Schoenchen, and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays.

Survivors include two sons, Terry and wife, Pat, Bradshaw, Neb., and Glenn, Schoenchen; two daughters, Charlene Willem and husband, John, Denver, and Sue Younger and husband, A.J., Ellis; three sisters, Julieta Randa and Cora Schumacher, both of Hays, and Darlene Bortz, Claflin; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Werth; a brother, William Munsch; and three sisters, Marietta Beyer, Vera Dinges and Berniece Dechant.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays; burial in St. Anthony Cemetery, Schoenchen.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from noon to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, both at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 20th and Pine.

A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Schoenchen Community Center or St. Anthony Church Auxiliary in care of the funeral home.
