Walter Charles 'Chuck' Ross

Walter Charles "Chuck" Ross, 65, Hays, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at Hays Medical Center.

He was born July 1, 1947, in Hays to Walter C. and Philomena (Fisher) Ross. He was a 1965 graduate of St. Joseph Military Academy and from Fort Hays State University with a bachelor's in business.

He married Deborah J. Flagler on Jan. 9, 1971, in WaKeeney. He was a accountant for Robert L. Wolf Accounting in Hays. He was a U.S. Army Reserve veteran for six years.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph Council Knights of Columbus Council No. 1325.

He enjoyed fishing and KU Basketball.

Survivors include his wife, Hays; two sons, Jason Ross, San Diego and Brian Ross, Hays; a daughter, Michelle Grospitch and husband, Eric, Lenexa; three sisters, Jean Ross, Hays, Marilyn Wasinger, Wichita and Patricia Needy, St. George, Utah; and two grandchildren, Dylan and Lauryn, both of Lenexa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Greg Ross; and two sisters, Betty Pfeifer and Shirley Schartz.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Monday, both at Brock's North Hill Chapel 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.

A St. Joseph Council Knights of Columbus rosary will be at 6 p.m. today, followed by a vigil at 6:30 p.m., both at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Joseph Parish elevator fund or Masses in care of the funeral home.
