Wanda L. Demel

Wanda L. Demel, 63, Great Bend, died Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at Hutchinson Hospital.

She was born July 7, 1944, in Great Bend to Reuben Herman and Alice Karst Boxberger.

She married Gary R. Demel on Nov. 23, 1979, in Odin. She was owner of Demel Beauty Salon.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; three sons, Mickey Ray Demel, Goddard, Dean Eric Demel, Wichita, and Jason Robert Demel, Lawrence; a daughter, Tammy Sue Smith, Salina; her mother, Great Bend; a brother, Dale Reuben Boxberger, Great Bend; two sisters, Judy May Daubert, Bison, and Glenda Sue Funk, Hoisington; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at United Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Milberger; burial in Milberger Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, with family present from 7 to 8 p.m., both at the funeral home.

A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to St. Mark Lutheran Church or Milberger Cemetery Fund in care of the funeral home.
