Wilbur Graver, 83, Hays, formerly of Larned, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at Hays Good Samaritan Center.
He was born Jan. 1, 1926, in Ash Valley to Andrew and Viola (Wagner) Graver.
He married Alice I. (Givens) on July 20, 1952, in Ash Valley. He was a licensed mental health technician at Larned State Hospital for 32 years. He lived in Larned since 1960. He owned and operated Larned Used Furniture Store for 47 years and was a farmer and stockman.
He was a member of the Larned First United Methodist Church and a former Larned Lions member. He moved to Hays Good Samaritan Center in 2008.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Arlene Hammond and Randy, Lawrenceville, Ga; two sons, Kent Graver and Lisa, Great Bend, and Randall Graver and Geralyn, Victoria; seven grandchildren, Chandra Hammond, Chennille Preston and Steve, Chris Graver, Melissa Graver, Josselyn McLaren, Jaelyn McLaren and Rhian Graver; and a great-grandchild, Caleb Preston.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John Graver and Leon Graver; and two sisters, Faye Kline and Lillian Graver.
A private family inurnment will be at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to Hays Good Samaritan Center in care of Cline's Mortuary of Hays, 1919 E. 22nd, Hays, KS 67601.
