William "Bill" Fowler, 71, Wichita, formerly of Hays and Colby, died Saturday, April 6, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital, Wichita.

He was born Nov. 28, 1941, in Oberlin to Dale and Thelma (Corder) Fowler. He grew up in Selden, graduating from Selden Rural High School in 1959 and from U.S. Trade School, Kansas City.

He married Diana Rogers on Sept. 30, 1961. They started their life together in Colby, where he began his work career at S&W Supply. He began his career with UPS in 1974 and through hard work and dedication advanced to center manger. His career with UPS took him and his family to Garden City, Olathe and Hays, where he retired in 1998. They have been Wichita residents since 2011.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting artifacts, wood working and restoring antique furniture. He was an avid NASCAR fan.

Survivors include his wife, Wichita; a son, Brett Fowler and wife, Kim, Nicholson, Pa.; four daughters, Wendy Homan and husband, Marc, Ginger Young and wife, Darrel, Robyn Horsley and husband, Chris, Joy Alexander and husband, Mark, all of Wichita; a sister, Jane Richardson and husband, Bill, Hays; 22 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Believers Tabernacle, 2000 S. Hillside, Wichita; graveside services will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, 47th St. South and Hoover Road, Wichita.

Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Downing and Lahey Mortuary, 10515 W. Maple, Wichita.
