1942-2012

William Francis "Bill" Bush, Jr. died peacefully on December 27, 2012, surrounded by his loving family after a 17-month battle with cancer.

He was the oldest of three children and the only son of Wm. F. and Lucille I. (Fiechter) Bush in Alhambra, CA, on May 25, 1942.

He was a veteran. He had a BA from Colorado State University and an MA from Fort Hays State University and taught middle school students in New Mexico, Guam and Colorado.

Bill met Lea Meckenstock while serving in the Peace Corps in Ecuador, South America. They married July 13, 1977.

He is survived by his wife, three children, Daniel Joseph of Colorado Springs, CO, Tracy Anne and Bret Andrew, both of Hays, KS, his mother, a grandson Landon, whom he adored, and two sisters, Rochelle and Rosemary. Bill was a loving husband, father, brother and son and will be greatly missed.

Until we meet again, may you rest in eternal love and peace.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at the Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1906 Pine Street. Bill's family will receive friends from 1:00 until the service time at the mortuary. Condolences may be left for the family at dmeck@eaglecom.net or at www.haysmemorial.com.
