William Ormond Breeden

William Ormond Breeden, 94, died Sunday, May 5, 2013, at Good Samaritan Center, Hays.

He was born Nov. 24, 1918, in Sheridan County to Cass Paul and Effie (McGuire) Breeden. He received a bachelor's degree from Kansas State University in agriculture.

He married Lenora Johnson on Jan. 12, 1946. She preceded him in death. He taught young men for 33 years to become knowledgeable farmers and leaders. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, serving in Burma and India during World War II.

Survivors include a son, David Breeden; two daughters, Carolyn Darst and Karen Breeden; a sister, Fern McWilliams; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three honorary grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, rural Studley.

Visitation will be from 5 t 7 pm. Wednesday at Schmitt Funeral Home, Quinter,

Memorials are suggested to Gideons International or Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
