William P. Augustine, 86, Ellis, died Friday, March 21, 2014, at his home.

He was born March 17, 1928, in McCracken to John and Regina (Schuster) Augustine.

He married Rose Marie Lang on Aug. 16, 1949, in Ellis. He was a farmer and then a signal maintainer for the Union Pacific Railroad.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Ellis, and Ellis Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife, Ellis; four sons; Kenneth Augustine, Ellis, Raymond Augustine and wife, Shirleen, Hutchinson, Michael Augustine, Hays, and David Augustine and wife, Kristie, Odessa, Texas; two daughters, Cheryl (Augustine) Noles and husband, Richard, Aurora, Colo., and Roberta Augustine, Ellis; two sisters Dorothy (Augustine) Weber and husband, Leonard, Ellis, and Betty (Augustine) Younger and husband, Richard, Hays; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, two sisters and an infant daughter.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Ellis; burial in the Catholic church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday at Keithley Funeral Chapel, Ellis, and from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the church.

A Knights of Columbus rosary/vigil will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to St. Mary Catholic Church or St. Mary School, Ellis, in care of the funeral home.
